This blend tricks you. It doesn't smell, taste or finish like a blend. It smells like a standard strong bourbon akin to your classic Jim or Jack. The finish and aftertaste is where this shines. The smoothness is beyond compare and the mild burn reminds you of it's 50% ABV. This is quite the blended whiskey. Quite the contradiction of 2 different bourbons into one.

Smooth. Strong. Bourbon. 8.5/10

What's not a contradiction is how damn good this whisky is. When you first taste it, you aren't met with anything except tough love, with an emphasis on the love. From the start, it is a beautiful taste; comforting, humble, and yet harsh, all at the same time. For a blend, it's lovely -- the second one we've had at whisky Tuesday, and it is delightful. I only wish we knew which whisky was which in the blend. Nonetheless, I give it a strong rating of 8.5/10.
