Meet the whisky enthusiasts behind Whisky Tuesdays
Whisky Tuesday is a tradition that has its origins in a cozy neighborhood apartment in Burlington, Vermont. Once a week, friends would get together to try a new kind of whisky, spend quality time together, and provide written reviews of the whisky of the week. Time goes on, and people move away, so fellow enthusiasts, Jeff and Tay, have united to continue the great tradition that is whisky Tuesday, exploring fine bourbon, rye, scotch, small batches, sherry and oak casks, and much, much more. So long as the world keeps turning, and there are barrels and bottles of whisky to be had, we will present our reviews and thoughts on the whisky we share here for all to see.
My whisky journey started like most people with the classics: Jim, Jack, Jameson. I always drank it mixed either with coke or ginger ale. As I got older I was starting to be able to drink them on the rocks and then I started to branch out. My first branch out was still something I knew, but what I liked to think was a fancier version Jameson Black Barrel. After that I was off on a wild whisky tasting adventure. I'm no expert, but the more things I try the more I do start to pick up the tasting notes and flavor profile on my own. Tay and I joined up recreating his old college tradition and this site was born. I hope you enjoy our sometimes ridiculous reviews and if you have suggestions please let us know!
I was first introduced to Whisky Tuesday in Burlington, VT, in 2009. Hosted by a close friend, Ramiro, I was enticed by the camaraderie and good times brought together by whisky. After transferring schools, Jeff and I fell out of touch for some years, but eventually reconnected, and alas, Whisky Tuesday was born again. I have no formal training in whisky review, I just bring my appreciation and enjoyment of the fire water to the table. Whisky Tuesday has rapidly become a cherished tradition, one that I look forward to continuing in the years to come. Here's to having no idea what the hell we're doing, but enjoying fine (and sometimes not-so-fine) whisky along the way. Cheers!
Every whisky we review gets scored on a scale of 0-10 by both Jeff and Tay. We evaluate aroma, flavor, finish, and overall experience. Our ratings are honest, personal, and reflect our individual preferences—because whisky is as much about the journey as it is about the destination.
