So this is the smokiest non-scotch I've had. It doesn't taste lieka scotch, though. This is truly an American whisky. There's a lot of flavor packed into every sip. It's not a complex flavor profile, though, and I don't think it's particularly smooth. Overall, I give it a 7/10, not very smooth, but hey, super unique.

It tastes like the smell of clothing after being around a fire all night. Pretty great. Very bold, smoky, but nuanced with some sweet flavors. Definitely a unique combination; a memorable pour for sure. Pour one out for those in el Paso & Ohio. This whisky did not quite embody Brimstone, but could most certainly make the case for a solid (read: Captain Falcon) "Balcones PUNCH!" Great stuff overall. 7.5/10

Reminds me of camping; enjoying a hearty spirit with good companions. Preferred it warm then chilled with cubes. Good bite; nice spice to the sip. Felt like a good spirit to enjoy with old friends intent on making ood memories. Tasted like the start of good times with a hint of danger. I like to call this (my first Whisky Tuesday whisky tasting) a kickstarter whisky. Hopefully many more, this is a solid building block. Rating 7.6 + (.5) for camaraderie = 8.1. Thanks boys!
