Though the expectations for this almost-free whiskey were low, it met or exceeded these expectations. Not as harsh as anticipated, this whiskey delivers on the classic bourbon tastes without providing much subtly. There's a hint of fruit and spice but only if you go looking for it. Other than that, it's a standard bourbon with classic flavors. 6.5/10

This is one of those instances where you kick yourself for judging a book by its cover. I did, and I was wrong. We got this whiskey cheaply. We saved it for a time of frugality. I was pleasantly surprised. It was inspiring, much like the quote above, which was included on the bottle. Makes me want to be a better person. Quite a night all around, accompanied by a fine, smooth whiskey. John Stetson, you dawg! 7/10
