This Whisky Tuesday had a special meaning to me. Coming on the anniversary of my mom's death I wanted to do something to remember her by. Every year since she passed I've gone to the gravestone and laid out one rose per year that she was gone. This was the 4th anniversary so it would be the fourth rose. Luckily, the whisky gods provided a whiskey with the same name.
The smell of Four roses is harsh but in no way does it prepare you for what's about to come. The finish is smooth, the taste is fruiting and delicious and overall this whisky delights the palette. Tastes of fruit and caramel hit your tongue as you continue to drink on. This single barrel hand made touch adds to its mystique and makes this a great whisky for the price.

It should be mentioned that when we cut romaine lettuce for taco salads, the stump resembled a rose. Between that and the connection to Jeff's mom, the whiskey was bound to be good tasting, and boy, was it!! Definitely a fan of the smoothness and the caramel flavor. It's exceptionally good chilled. That extra 10% alcohol really does sneak up on you... in a good way. It appears the single barrel is the way to go. I would absolutely drink this again. 8.5/10.
